RST students meet with White Sox front office

On April 25, graduate students from RST 515 and undergraduates from the Illinois Sports Business Association traveled to Chicago and met with members of the Chicago White Sox front office before watching that night’s White Sox-Royals game.

All of the White Sox employees who spoke with the students were Illinois alumni: corporate partnership development account executive Joe Ronovsky, senior manager of premium seating sales and service Rob Boaz, ticket sales new business executive Thomas Siwek, group ticket sales executives Scott Gbur and Reynel Penn, and senior coordinator of community relations Tiffany Spencer.

The alumni covered a range of topics in their hour-long roundtable discussion, including the importance of using everyday interactions as networking opportunities and the passion needed to work in the sports industry.
